About
Michael Robertson
Michael Robertson writes stories set at the edges of things: the end of the world, the depths of space, the neon underbelly of the future and the dark corners of the mind. His books span post-apocalyptic survival, space opera, cyberpunk and horror, and have sold more than 800,000 copies.
His longest-running series, Beyond These Walls, follows a group of survivors from the walled city of Edin into a wasteland overrun by the diseased, and now runs to 24 books. Alongside it sit the post-apocalyptic thriller The Alpha Plague, the dark space opera of The Shadow Order and Galactic Terror, and the cyberpunk Neon Horizon series. His books have been translated into Italian, French, German, Spanish and Dutch, and many are available as audiobooks, including free full-length listens on YouTube.
He also writes dark thrillers under the pen name M C Robertson. If you like your stories grounded in the real world and just as dark, they’re well worth a look.
He also writes and publishes comics as part of Off-Kilter Comics, and can often be found behind a table at UK comic conventions.
Michael has been writing for over fifteen years, and he’s been a reader for a lot longer. His favourite books include House of Leaves, The Road, Swan Song and Trainspotting. On the comics shelf, The Incal, Judge Dredd and Daytripper sit alongside the odd Batman. When he’s not reading, he’s probably rewatching Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Lord of the Rings.
He lives in Kent, England, where he’s a father of two. When he’s not writing, you’ll find him exercising, out on a long walk, or working his way through another cup of coffee.
